| Development Channel Program
for COBAS INTEGRA® Systems
Make specialty tests part of your routine
Laboratories large and small are faced with the medical necessity
of reporting test results faster than ever. While this challenge
has become easier for routine tests, quickly processing infrequently
ordered specialty tests can mean the difference between
timely patient treatment and increased hospital length of stay.
At Roche Diagnostics we address this need by offering one of
the broadest clinical chemistry menus on the market with our
COBAS INTEGRA® systems. With over 150 assays and applications
available on one platform, the COBAS INTEGRA
menu far exceeds the testing needs for most laboratories.
Nevertheless, there are still times where specialty tests not
available from Roche are needed for local medical decisions.
Most laboratories cope with the infrequent demand for specialty
tests by either sending them to a reference laboratory or performing
them off-line on instruments dedicated to a specific
technology. Both options take time and require extra effort
and cost.
To help laboratories overcome these challenges, Roche will
offer COBAS INTEGRA customers the Development Channel
program. This program enables customers to develop assay
applications for specialty tests on the COBAS INTEGRA 400
plus and COBAS INTEGRA 800 systems. An intuitive user interface
leads the user step-by-step through the tasks needed to
create new applications. Once developed, these tests can be
processed like any other Roche application.
The Development Channel program gives customers immediate
access to the following benefits:
- Multiple reaction and calibration modes make COBAS
INTEGRA systems suitable for many specialty assays
- Specialty tests are incorporated into the cobas c pack reagent
carrier for long onboard stability and simple handling.
- Disposable microcuvettes to eliminate reagent carryover
- Reaction volumes as little as 120μl improves the yield from
expensive reagents
- Sample volumes of 2–50μl meaning less tubes need to be drawn
- An onboard Florescence Polarization module enables
applications for FP-based assays
- A complete range of reaction flags safely allows the fine
tuning of applications
- Up to five Development Channels will be available
